Have the Audacity to Decide, Declare and Do

It's that time of the year when people start looking and planning at the year ahead with a renewed sense of hope.

It's great, I love it.

Me... I see an abundance of time left in this year. I see 25 days as opportunities to launch two more projects and end the year on a high note.

After hosting my first podcast workshop, I received valuable feedback from the attendees.  Along with the personal insight, I got another "aha moment" that lead to another brilliant "idea".

The idea is to expand on the workshop and create a live cohort podcasting workshop series (more on this soon).

As a multipassionate, I receive many ideas on a daily basis.  An idea, aka, a new shiny object, continually arrives into my atmosphere and know have come to the realization that having "an idea" is a dime a dozen.

The key challenge for any multipassionate is taking that idea and only taking action if, and only if, it aligns with my purpose, vision and mission in life.

You see, as soon as you know which idea to act on, the real work starts because formulating a plan, executing and launching is much more difficult than coming up with "an idea".

I am developing a process that allows me to get the ideas out of my head and into action quickly.

Visualize and Map the Idea

Starting with an idea, I create a mind map to brainstorm on the topics, lessons and discussions that I would like to go over.

A mind map allows me to visualize the thoughts I have in my mind.  In the past, I would write things down on paper or on the computer.  It didn't allow for the ideas to flow out quickly.

With the mind map forming, I am able to see how the program can roll out and what deliverables would be delivered at each step.

Create Key Milestones

I create a work back schedule around key milestones and deliverables and decide on a launch date.

Making the decision when these key milestone dates is the most difficult step.

In the past, I would never declare a launch date even with the best intentions and plans.

The "When" wouldn't be clear.  It would be "next year" or "next quarter".  Not specific enough.  Without due dates and deadlines, the when will never happen.

Now comes the fun and tedious part, creating the long list of tasks that needs to be completed to ensure a successful launch.

Fail to Plan, Plan to fail

This exercise is essential to hit your launch date.  If you fail to plan, you will most likely miss your expected launch date.

I recently wrote about crushing out your to-do lists and as soon as you get your tasks down to an hour or less, just do it!

Just Do It

I'm not sure about you, but I love having to know exactly what I need to do each day.  No thinking, no strategizing, no planning.  Just do.

Just do because you know you are stacking brick by brick and by no time, you will launch.

With all that said, I still have two projects that I am launching before the end of the year but have already planned this workshop for the new year.

A friendly reminder for those who are only looking into the new year already is to remember that today is a present and ask yourself what you can do today!

25 days 19 days is a lifetime and blessing.

Seize the day.
